Well, we are finally over our heat spell! We've been sewing car seat covers for the dogs in our lives who like to take a dip in the pond rather than simply trail beside it. These covers are really neat because they can be pulled out to use in the shade at the next rest stop. Over the course of our married life and with kids in tow, we have learned to appreciate that next tree (tee, hee) as much as the family pet. The reprieve from concrete and swelling mufflered heat is Sooo welcome. Thank God for trees, literally. You can see the pet protector here

It's only 10 a.m., and we've already reached the 100 degree mark! Are you still walking your dog in this heat? If so, is it in early morning or as late as possible at night? When you finally do get in the car and take your dog to a nearby park, does your dog head like a magnet to water? After walking halfway around the perimeter of the pond, you stop to talk with a neighbor, and there she goes, chasing down the bank and frolicking into the pond to cool off. Who can blame her? But now it's time to get back in the car and head home, and she's still dripping wet. On your summer jaunts, does your dog like to jump in the lake?
